Downtown Kelowna
From Clement at the North, to Queensway on the South, between Water St and Ellis, the Cultural District is right in the heart of the city.
Between the arena, Kelowna Community Theatre, Mary Irwin Theatre and the Rotary Centre for the Arts, the Cultural District has seen hundreds of live music and other arts event happen within its boundaries and in the adjoining streets and parks.
Music and other arts & culture events happening within the Kelowna Cultural District.
Within the boundaries of the Cultural District, but not officially part of it, are Prospera Place, Memorial Arena, the Innovation Centre, and City Hall. Parking is available on the street surrounding the district, and there is also a parking structure adjacent to the library.
Just one block further to the west lies Lake Okanagan, the 88 mile long lake that, along with the mountains that line it, creates much of the beautiful scenery the Okanagan is world famous for. The parks situated between the lake and the cultural district host countless musical and other arts events throughout the summer months, so any visitor to Kelowna and the cultural district would do well to stroll along the boardwalk beside the lake and take in that adjacent scene as well.
It should also be noted that the cultural district begins just one block north of Bernard Ave, which is home to a number of pubs that host live music on a regular basis during normal times. As we all know, these are not normal times, but when things do get back to normal, places like Doc Willoughby's, Fernando's Pub and O'Flannigan's (which sits right on the border of the district on Queensway Ave) have music several nights a week.
