Rising Kelowna female country singer/songwriter Teigen Gayse played a pair of sets at Barn Owl Brewing on a hot Okanagan spring evening. The sun wasn't the only thing bringing the heat, though.

Gayse offered up a mix of cover tunes and originals, and she did it all with a casual and fun demeanor that only highlighted the passion she brings to performing in public and sharing her favourite songs. Minimum pretense, maximum joy, let's have a good time attitude that had everybody smiling and feeling pretty good about where they were in the moment.

"Drops of Jupiter", "Boom Clap", even a fun cover of Ed Sheeran's "The A Team" and others all sat well with the Barn Owl crowd, but "I Don't Wanna Fall In Love Anymore", which is garnering radio airtime these days, and even opened at 48 on the country charts, was certainly the highlight of her first set. 8 songs of youthful joy and exuberance felt pretty good in this setting and on this night. Very much looking forward to seeing her again later this year as she has a number of gigs booked now that things are opeining up.
