with Covid still out there and with restrictions always looming, we are choosing to do mini "photo reviews" for as many shows as we can this year

restrictions limit us to grabbing a few shots during the first 2 or 3 songs and then we need to be on our way

Heading out to 75 shows around Kelowna already this year has provided all sorts of amazing discoveries. Sometimes it's a venue, sometimes it's a band, every once in awhile it's both. Mozi Bones at Soma Craft Cidery was one of those rare ones where, while we had discovered this band earlier this year, Mozi Bones in this setting felt like a perfect combination.

We arrived in time to catch the start of Mozi Bones' second set in the new lounge at Soma Craft Cidery in East Kelowna, and once again this Okanaga fusion trio did not disappoint. Seemingly totally at ease with themselves as a musical unity, they were able to appear calm in songs at the fastest tempos with gorgeous rhythms and syncopations while also clearly enjoying themselves just being and playing together even in the chillest and most laid back moments.

This group combined passion and precision, syncopation and groove, attention without tension and being in the moment, all while offering really good compositions repleat with abundant improvisations. Nicely done.

While we were there, they plabed Sarah's Someday, Breezy, Downtown, Naturaleza, Eye Spies, Emulate, Sank, and Another Fille.
