As fun as it is to catch one of my favourites gigging around town, it's also a lot of fun to catch somebody that I'd never heard of or seen before.

Bo Higgs was one of those artists that was unknown to me before his performance up at The Vibrant Vine. And he was absolutely worth checking out. The man only plays originals, and has written hundreds of songs. I would call it some sort of amalgam of roots and Americana and singer/songwriter. He refers to it as Bo'sound.

His approach and presentation is both old school and so cool. Matter of fact type, listen to this song, and this is why I wrote it kinda thing. What you see is what you get.

What I got was to hear some straight from the heart and born on the road tunes played without an ounce of pretense but gallons of authenticity. Wish I could have stayed longer, but Covid restrictions plus other shows to go shoot.
