with Covid still active and new restrictions in place, we are choosing to do mini "photo reviews" for as many shows as we can this year

restrictions limit us to grabbing a few shots during the first 2 or 3 songs and then we need to be on our way

Jazz vocalist Anna Jacyszyn and guitarist Loni Moger have established themselves as regulars at Grizzli Winery just across the bridge in West Kelowna. With both of them having thousands of gigs under their belts, and now a great many as a duo, they are able to provide a range of musical experiences from background music, dinner jazz, and more upbeat performances at venues and in times when those things are permitted.

Jacyszyn has a delivery that is at once easy going while simultaneously resting on years of perfecting her vocal craft, all of which sits on top of a deep and broad familiarity with the jazz vocal repertoire. All of that was clearly on display as she wove her way through standards such as The Nearness of You, Girl From Ipanema, and others in the open air portion of the winery that provides for maximum air flow and comfortable spacing while still providing protection from the elements.

Moger is simply a "complete" jazz guitarist, and on this evening and with the aid of his looping pedal, provided not only solid groove with gorgeous chord voicings, but also wonderful solos that provided conterpoint and contrast to Jacyszyn's vocal lines.
