Aaron Loewen

Hot Jazz / Swing Manouche Guitarist

Aaron Loewen is a Canadian hot jazz and swing manouche (think gypsy jazz) guitarist from the interior of BC. His sound conjures up times and spaces long ago and far away, but wrapped in an immediacy that transports his audiences there with neither delay nor jet lag.

His musical background includes early studies on classical piano and an adolesence spent on distorted electric guitar. An odd beginning, considering it led him to serious study of players like Django Reinhart and the whole gypsy jazz sound and vibe.

Loewen plays both as a solo artist or as a member of larger groups such as Django's Jewels, and plays in Kelowna often enough to be a part of the local jazz scene.
