with Covid still active and new restrictions in place, we are choosing to do mini "photo reviews" for as many shows as we can this year

restrictions limit us to grabbing a few shots during the first 2 or 3 songs and then we need to be on our way

Kelowna country artist Melissa Livingstone played a couple of upbeat and energetic sets on a bright and sunny Sunday afternoon at Barn Owl Brewing.

While the heat wave had not descended on us yet, the warmth of the sun and the bright blue skies clearly agreed with Ms. Livingstone, as she threw herself completely into each song she performed. Before she was even approaching the half way mark of her first set she had already covered Johnny Cash and Shania Twain with great versions of "Ring Of Fire" and "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under".

She was decidedly in a tossing her hair around and throwing caution to the wind kind of mood, and determined to have a little fun while putting smiles on the faces of the Barn Owl crowd. There is definitely more than a little bit of the entertainer in this local young female singer/songwriter.

I would love to see her kick it with a full band. With these Covid restrictions nearing an end and things opening up again, perhaps that will happen soon. Livingstone is currently raising money for her first trip down to Nashville in a couple years, so if you're a fan of country music, or even just a fan of people chasing their dreams, find a way to see her live and provide whatever kind of support you can.
