Country recording artist Mike Gouchie's soulful voice will captivate your attention from start to finish. His powerful vocals set him a cut above the rest, showcasing an accomplished mix of traditional and new country. Mike has a "strong yet soft-sprit" and truly knows how to deliver a heart breaker!Mike Gouchie's "Rebel Spirit" and drive to survive have taught him many lessons in life and music!Music grew naturally into Mike's blood, influenced by his father always surrounding him with the classic country/gospel sounds of Hank, George, Buck, Merle, and Elvis just to name a few.After his school years, Mike joined some of his old high school friends and formed the Country/Rock band "GunShy". The group went on to tour clubs, rodeos, and music festivals throughout Western Canada.Mike's priorities changed when his children came along. He dedicated the next dozen years to being a full time father and single parent. It were those and the continuing years of "Real Life" which ignited within him, a new love and passion for music and song.Mike's return to the music scene has taken him to Nashville, Tennessee where he won the title of "International Country Male Vocalist Of The Year" in 2004. His name has appeared in headlines for many awards, nominations, and high profile performances. CMT (Country Music Television) included Mike Gouchie in a documentary/reality series titled "Plucked" which aired the fall of 2006 into 2007. With his music charting with radio around the world, Mike was on a roll....Then in February 2007, Mike lost his father to throat cancer which took him and his children back to Prince George, B.C. to be close to his beautiful mother.Shortly after the move in July 2007 Mike had a major career setback when his vehicle was stuck by a moose just outside of P.G. He was left with a traumatic brain injury, lacerations, and broken bones. Mike believes his father words, "NEVER GIVE UP MY BOY" brought him back to full recovery with a humbled new outlook on life.Those same words along with Mike's strong determination through neurological rehab and speech therapy have no doubt led Mike to the following success to come!
