Theo & the Poetics

Singer/Songwriter with a jazzy twist

Theo & the Poetics is a Canadian trio that can best be described as "singer/songwriter with a jazzy twist." The players are Trisha Koroluk on guitar and vocals, Miles Overn on guitar and vocals, and Dave Chobot on bass and vocals.

Each of the members have played locally as well as internationally, either as solo artists or as part of groups. Koroluk and Overn have both been writing songs for years, and Chobot has been playing bass, arranging songs, and acting as musical director for as long.

As a trio, expect a healthy mix of originals and cover tunes. As far as the covers go, think Bob Marley, Van Morrison, Tony Joe White, Elton John, Norah Jones and others. Singer/songwriter stuff, but with a very different feel.

This Kelowna band is practicing mostly virtually during the ongoing Covid pandemic, passing recordings of original songs back and forth for members to mine the chord changes and voicings in songs for lines that move the compositions forwards in a way that will work in a live trio setting for what will hopefully be a much more active live music scene in 2021.
